What is the difference between an SunSine™ AC Module and a traditional solar system?

How do I partner with GreenRay?
GreenRay partners with well-known product application partners and solar installers that have the complementary expertise which bring GreenRay's technology to a diverse range of markets.

Can the SunSine™ AC Module work in off-grid environments?
No. GreenRay's SunSine™ AC Modules have only been tested to work in grid-tied installations.

Do I need an A/C disconnect on my roof for each GreenRay branch-circuit?
This varies by Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Check with your local installer.

Does the SunSine™ AC Module automatically disconnect when the grid shuts down?
Yes. The SunSine™ AC Module are CSA-listed to the UL 1741 standard for utility-interactive applications. If the utility voltage source is out of voltage or frequency spec, or if the utility is disconnected, the inverter will not feed current or voltage to the grid side terminals. This functionality is implemented with any grid-tied inverter, so it will not "island" and potentially hurt line workers.

Do the SunSine™ AC Modules work with a tracker system?
Yes, SunSine™ AC Modules work with tracker systems. The only considerations are to ensure that the additional weight of the modules does not affect the tracking mechanism's ability to mechanically rotate, that the cables have enough slack, and the grounding wires will accommodate the rotation of the tracker.

Can I install a SunSine™ AC Module myself?
Any solar-electric system should be installed by qualified personnel only.

What are the technical specifications of the SunSine™ AC module?
The technical specifications of our product are available on our Products page. The SunSineTM AC module is only available as a complete, integrated package. The microinverter is not available for sale as a stand alone component.

Will you send me a sample?
GreenRay does not currently send samples of its proprietary technology. At this time, only a small, select group of partners are provided samples for training and testing.

How do I invest in GreenRay?
GreenRay is a privately held company, and therefore stock cannot be purchased. We are funded by leading venture capital firms, and recently closed a round of funding in July 2009. Additionally we have been funded through several R&D Grants and the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust.

Can you explain residential solar power cost versus payback?
Many tools exist to help customers calculate payback in years, or more commonly, to compute the lifecycle cost of energy. One such tool is the Solar Advisor Model created and supported by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
