Leadership Team

Miles C. Russell
CEO & President
Miles is a co-founder of GreenRay and responsible for company management and product development. He was formerly Director of Systems Development at Schott Solar. During his 32 years in the PV industry, he generated the concept for the SunSine™ AC module, led the design of several mounting systems, and successfully grew and managed a small business.  Mr. Russell has been involved in PV systems research, design and development continuously since July 1977, when he joined the engineering staff at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory (Lexington, MA).  Miles holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.

Suparna B. Kadam
Chief Strategy Officer/Chief Marketing Officer
Suparna is responsible for the company's financial management, operating activities, business development, sales, and marketing. During her 6 years in the PV industry, she has consulted for various PV companies and worked on commercializing several new products for Schott Solar.  Prior to this, she led planning and execution of the business plan and fundraising at an early stage startup.   She has also worked in a variety of roles at Intel, Air Products & Chemicals, and Ford Motor Company.  She holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and MS in Chemical Engineering.

Ruel D. Little
Chief Technical Officer
Ruel is responsible for systems analysis, product testing and data acquisition design. With 12 years of PV industry experience in photovoltaic technology, he brings to the team core knowledge of system and component design. Ruel built his solar experience at Ascension Technology and Schott Solar. His initial work was in solar resource monitoring and expanded into data acquisition for hundreds of grid-tied systems world-wide.  His work also includes Schott Solar's efforts in PV module energy guarantee, predictive power output monitoring, and the first real-time power display widely available on the web. Fundamental to his work has been to understand PV system behavior in different environments.   Mr. Little patented the Rotating Shadowband solar resource monitor and holds a MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Zachary A. King
Chief Operating Officer
Zachary is responsible for GreenRay's manufacturing, system design and balance-of-system product development. During his 7 years in the PV industry at Schott Solar and Applied Power, he developed production and testing procedures for the Ascension Technology SunSine™ AC module, designed numerous residential and commercial PV systems, and developed system integration components including Schott Solar’s FS mounting system. His previous experience is with Saint Gobain in research and development of precision ceramic products for use in advanced hard drives. Zachary holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from UMass, Lowell.

Gregory A. Kern
Director of Inverter Development
Greg is responsible for inverter design and development.  He was the principal designer of the 300-Watt grid-tied micro-inverter for the SunSine™ AC Module, and led Ascension Technology’s development of an innovative lighting controller and other products.  As President of Coal Creek Design, he was the lead technical developer of the Sandia Voltage Shift and Sandia Frequency Shift anti-islanding method for grid tied inverters. Greg has worked with Underwriters Laboratories developing a design for a three phase 200 kVA power electronic LC circuit simulator to support IEEE 1547 distributed generator testing.  Greg has three patents in the area of power electronics.  During his career Greg has also held senior design roles at dBm Optics and Kinetek Systems.  He holds a BS in Physics from MIT and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado.
